David Traven is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Political Science. He attended graduate school at the Ohio State University, and he came to Kenyon in Spring of 2013. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of international relations theory, international law, and international ethics. He is particularly interested in the laws of war, human rights, and the ethics of global governance. Professor Traven is currently working on a book project that examines the emergence of non-combatant protection norms in Western and non-Western civilizations.
