Authorization to Begin Work
All students seeking to work on campus must complete federal eligibility forms and present proper identification as required by the United States federal government.
Students must complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Form on the first day of work and present appropriate identification within three days. Further, you must bring with you to campus (and prior to performing any duties) original documentation (photocopies and faxed copies of documents are expressly prohibited) confirming your eligibility to work in the United States. (Examples of proper identification may be found on page 5 of the I-9.) Failure to do so is against federal law and will delay the issue of a paycheck. In addition, students should also complete the State Exemption Certificates for Federal (W-4) and State (IT-4). If none are filed, the College will assume that the student wishes to claim zero exemptions at the single rate. Please also complete the Direct Deposit Form.
International students must obtain a Social Security Card to work. The Office of International Education assists students with filing the appropriate applications.
