Employers

Welcome to the Student Employment Website. Student Employment is an important factor for both the student and the College employer. For the student, it means financial assistance as well as a valuable work/educational experience. For the employer, it provides the kind of help needed for peak periods and other situations where full-time, regular employment would be impractical. It is, therefore, a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Over 800 students are employed in on-campus jobs during the academic year and the summer. In dealing with these students, the College must follow federal and state regulations governing employment. Following the procedures outlined in this website will ensure compliance with these regulations.

Hiring Procedure for Student Employees

Posting Jobs
All on-campus student employment positions should be posted in Symplicity. This system replaced Experience during the summer of 2012. Once logged in using your Kenyon email address and created password, you can create job postings and notify our office of your placements. For instructions on posting positions in the system, click here.

Submitting Placements
Student employers must complete a placement form for each student you hire in Symplicity. Log in using your full Kenyon email address, along with your password to create a placement, on or before student employees' hire dates. Full instructions are available for download here, and are located in the Document Library in the Symplicity system.

If you need to contact Student Employment about new student employee placements, (new hires), wage changes or account number changes, please send email messages to Heidi Norris, Student Employment Coordinator at stuemp@kenyon.edu, or call the Career Development Office at ext. 5165 with any questions.
