Gillen wins service award

Professor of Biology Chris Gillen has received the 2011 faculty Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes exemplary citizenship and service. Gillen was recognized for his role in developing Kenyon's S-STEM grant project, which recruits science students from underrepresented groups, as well as for improving the Summer Science Scholars Program, working with the KEEP enrichment program, and effectively chairing the Natural Sciences Division, among other activities. Gillen has taught at Kenyon since 1997. The annual award is presented at the last faculty meeting of the year and carries a small honorarium.
