Course catalog changes 2011-12
April 5, 2011
Dear Community,
Beginning this spring, Kenyon will not be printing our Course Catalog for the 2011-12 academic year. The catalog on line will be the publication of record. We will make no changes to requirements for majors, minors, and concentrations once this goes on line (unless we discover an error) until we create the catalog for next year.
A list of academic policy changes that have been included in this catalog are listed below. You should read the policies in the catalog to familiarize yourself.
Academic Honesty and Questions of Plagiarism-- Significant overhaul to the language was approved by the faculty. Read through to familiarize yourself. http://www.kenyon.edu/x11747.xml
Transfer credit-- Students are now required to get approval of courses before completion of the course. The maximum summer school credit has increased from 2.0 to 3.0 units. Courses taken while completing high school now are now included in the maximum of 3.0 units of AP, IB, A Levels. A policy was created that requires someone to complete their degree with transfer credits within seven years of their original anticipated graduation date. Several clarifications of current practice were added. http://www.kenyon.edu/x11745.xml
Student Records-- A paragraph was added regarding suspension or dismissal for disciplinary, social, or academic infractions during a semester and how the courses will be handled. http://www.kenyon.edu/x11744.xml
