"To seek a newer world"

Friday-Sunday, October 24-26, 2003

S.Georgia NugentOn Saturday, October 25, S. Georgia Nugent will be inaugurated as Kenyon College's eighteenth president. The theme for the occasion, "To seek a newer world," taken from Alfred Lord Tennyson's 1842 poem Ulysses, has been a touchstone for the Inauguration Committee in planning activities for the weekend.

Invitations to the inauguration will be sent in late August or early September, both to individuals and to institutions of higher education. Colleges and universities will be invited to send delegates to march in the academic procession at the inauguration ceremony and to participate in other Inauguration Weekend festivities. A number of the weekend's events, including the inauguration ceremony itself, will be open to the public.

More specific information about Inauguration Weekend will be posted as it is confirmed. Please stop back often! Learn more about President Nugent ...
