Blum Is Back

Bestselling author Jenna Blum '92 will read from her new novel, The Stormchasers, at Kenyon on Monday, February 28, at 4:30 p.m.
Blum is also the author of Those Who Save Us (2004), which stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for four years. That novel follows a German history professor's investigation into her mother's life in Germany during World War II in the context of the Holocaust.
At Kenyon, Blum will read from The Stormchasers, a novel about twins coping with mental illness in the culture of adventurers and researchers who chase tornadoes in the Midwest.
Shawn Presley, Kenyon director of public affairs, emphasized the riveting quality of Blum's work. "Jenna Blum puts readers in the vortex of a tornado in her novel The Stormchasers," Presley said. "She develops scenes that leave you gripping your arm chair. The novel's wind storms are balanced by emotional storms as her characters deal with the issue of bi-polar disorder. The novel is a fascinating look at the culture of those who chase tornadoes and a tender story of family ties."
Blum will read from her new novel and sign her books, which will be available for sale, at the Finn House. The reading is sponsored by the Office of Public Affairs.
