GAMBIER, Ohio (October 13, 2009)

Kenyon College is the host for Tech Thursday, a free entrepreneurial networking event presented by the Northern Ohio IT Association at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

Technology entrepreneurs, investors, students, and anyone promoting or interested in technology-based economic development is invited to Peirce Hall, 106 Gaskin Ave. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Ted Rice, director of the Kenyon College Burton D. Morgan Innovation Greenhouse Program, will briefly discuss the program and its mission to cultivate entrepreneurial innovation at Kenyon. The event is an opportunity to make new friends, establish connections, share ideas, and visit with members of the Northern Ohio IT Association, Rice said. The association was formed in 2006 as a venue for information-technology professionals to interact, create commercial opportunities, and promote improvements in the area's technology infrastructure.

Tech Thursday is sponsored by Innovation Greenhouse, the Kenyon Department of Chemistry, and Kenyon's Library and Information Services. Additional support comes from the Braintree Business Development Center, Mount Vernon and Knox County Chamber of Commerce, Ohio Small Business Development Center, and TechColumbus.
