Sonalini Sapra is the 2009-11 Andrew Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow in International Studies at Kenyon College. Prior to returning to graduate school in 2004, she worked in a non-governmental labor rights organization in India doing research and advocacy on the impact that domestic and international trade policies were having on India's informal work force. In 2009, she completed her doctoral dissertation in Political Science from Vanderbilt University. Her dissertation examines the strategies and discourses womens groups in India use in their activism against environmental degradation. Her research is interdisciplinary and builds on work in Political science, Feminist Geography, Gender studies, and Sociology.
