Kenyon College invites applications for two Tenure Track positions in the Department of Dance and Drama. These appointments begin in July, 2010.
Introduction
The Department of Dance and Drama at Kenyon College invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Drama at the assistant professor level beginning July 2010.
Duties of each position will include: teaching two undergraduate courses each semester, directing one main-stage production each academic year, and contributing to regular departmental work. The successful candidates will join other Drama faculty teaching Introduction to Theatre, and will teach courses in acting and/or directing, dramatic literature from a practitioner's perspective, and other areas determined by the candidates' expertise.
Kenyon College has a particularly active liberal arts program in dance, drama, and film, with nine full time faculty (including two in film and two in dance), a full time technical director, a full time costume shop manager, and 20 majors graduating each year.
The successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to, and understanding of, the performing arts in the context of a liberal arts education. A completed MFA or PhD is strongly preferred. Candidates holding an MA and having significant relevant experience will be considered.
