Kenyon College invites applications for a Tenure Track position in the Department of Dance and Drama. This appointment begins in the Fall of 2010.
Introduction
The Department of Dance and Drama at Kenyon College invites applications for a new tenure-track position in film at the assistant professor level beginning July 2010.
Duties of the position involve teaching 5 undergraduate courses per academic year as well as regular departmental work. The successful candidate will be required to teach screenwriting and film analysis as well as mentor student film projects. An applicant's ability to teach film history would enhance one's candidacy.
Kenyon College has a particularly active liberal arts program in dance, drama, and film, with nine full time faculty (including two in film), a full time technical director, a full time costume shop manager, and 20 majors graduating each year.
A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to, and understanding of, the performing arts in the context of a liberal arts education. A strong candidate will offer one or more additional areas of expertise such as cinematography, film and video editing, film genres, digital media, or theatre directing.
