Kenyon College invites applications for a one year position in the Department of Religious Studies at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, effective July, 2010.
Introduction
The Department of Religious Studies at Kenyon College is accepting applications for a visiting assistant professor for the 2010/2011 academic year. We are interested in candidates with expertise in some combination of the following: religion in America (USA) including African-American and Native American religious traditions; African Diaspora religions; and religion in Africa including African traditional religions, Islam, and Christianity. Candidates who have or will have completed the PhD degree by the summer of 2010 are encouraged to apply.

The College
Kenyon College is a highly selective, nationally ranked, private, residential, liberal-arts college. Kenyon, the oldest private college in Ohio, is rich in history and tradition and is particularly well known for a literary tradition that includes The Kenyon Review. Compensation and Benefits
Salaries at Kenyon are competitive and commensurate with experience. There are a number of faculty development opportunities (e.g. travel, research funds, etc.) for which appointees are eligible.

We will commence reading applications in early October and will accept application until November 20. We will conduct preliminary interviews during the AAR conference in Montreal.
