Kenyon College invites applications for a Tenure Track position in the Department of Mathematics. This appointment begins July 2010.
Introduction
The Department of Mathematics at Kenyon College seeks to fill a Tenure-Track position at the assistant professor level beginning July 2010. A Ph.D. in mathematics or closely related field is required. All areas of specialization will be considered with preference given to candidates with an interest in contributing to the development of an applied mathematics program. The ability to teach statistics will be considered a plus.
Our department has a strong commitment to student-centered learning. Thus, we will be particularly interested in candidates with experience in active learning techniques and/or laboratory based instruction. The typical teaching load is five courses per year. Kenyon faculty members are expected to be excellent teachers who maintain strong research programs.
The College
Kenyon College is a highly selective, nationally ranked, private, residential, liberal-arts college. Kenyon, the oldest private college in Ohio, is rich in history and tradition and is particularly well known for a literary tradition that includes The Kenyon Review. Salaries at Kenyon are competitive and commensurate with experience. There are a number of faculty development opportunities (e.g. travel, research funds, etc.) for which appointees are eligible.
