What she'll be doing
Analyzing markets, exploiting trends, meeting with suppliers, and identifying business-building/cost-saving ideas. "It's kind of a 'liberal arts' job. I will be doing something different all the time."
The alumni connection
A P&G employee who was contacted through Kenyon Career Network helped King land an internship there last summer. "He made sure my resume got seen."
How a Kenyon education helped
Small-group discussions in honors seminars prepared King for the dynamics of the business world. "We sat in a circle, having to think on the spot. It was just like the business meetings I attended."
Writing and presenting papers sharpened her research and communication skills and "made me a better interviewee." Hands-on leadership experiences included helping to manage the student activities' budget, advising residents on housing issues, and educating students about the Kenyon Fund.

Why Kenyon?
King attended Kenyon for its swim program, but quickly embraced other opportunities, too. Her father, an engineer, initially questioned the practicality of a liberal arts education. "But now he couldn't be happier," she said. After all, his daughter has what she described as "a great job with above-average pay."
