Community service plays a big role in the lives of many Kenyon students—and in the lives of those they help. From tutoring kids at Wiggin Street School to serving hot meals to the hungry, Kenyon students make a difference in the local area. And they reach way beyond central Ohio. Two groups of students are spending the winter break helping with hurricane relief—one in Galveston, one in New Orleans. In fact, this is the fourth year in a row that Kenyon students have volunteered in post-Katrina Louisiana. Increasingly, community service is not just a fulfilling activity for Kenyon students; it's a part of who they are.
Hurricane Relief

Kenyon students have made service trips to New Orleans since 2006. This year, Dan Caplan '09 reflects on his volunteer experience.

Food for the Hungry

From fundraisers to canned food drives, students help combat hunger in central Ohio. This year's effort produced a bumper crop of food and money for the hungry.

Life at Kenyon isn't just about what you do in the classroom; student-run service groups like Hotmeals lead the way.

Service opportunities abound at Kenyon and beyond. Want to get involved? Community Service Programs can help you get started.
