True. Together.
Comedian Heather Gold Speaks on Diversity
Heather gave a talk entitled "True. Together.", a romantic and funny Prop 8-inspired story of her own unlikely courtship, marriage, family acceptance and political re-engagement via Silicon Valley. It offers lessons on how to make difference what connects rather than what divides people. Heather writes, "Conformity is no longer working for America, the most diverse nation in the world. It's not working in politics, civil rights or business. It even undermines a good marriage. Emphasizing difference in pursuit of common goals actually brings people together more quickly. It demands that not just LGBT people but all of us come out more as ourselves."
