Internships

Innovation Greenhouse Program participants and Kenyon students at large are encouraged to seek internships with Mount Vernon and Knox County businesses as a way of gaining real-world experience that prepares them for their post-college lives.

Students interested in internships are encouraged to contact the Career Development Center to explore the possibilities.

The Burton D. Morgan Lecture Series

The lecture series brings successful entrepreneurs and business people to Kenyon. Innvoation Greenhouse Program participants often get special access to the speakers and a chance to share ideas and learn more about building a successful life.

Business Development Grants

Each spring, students will compete for four $500 business development grants. Funds are to be used to develop a full blown business plan during the following year which will compete for the Burton D. Morgan Entrepreneurship Prize.

Business Plan Competition and Burton D. Morgan Entrepreneurship Prize

Each year two business plans written by Kenyon students will be selected to receive $5,000 grants with which to begin their business plans. The businesses are to be started during their junior or senior year.

Burton D. Morgan Externship Scholarship Program

Provides students with an intensive one-week opportunity to shadow alumni in a wide array of business fields across the country. While this program is typically self-funded, the Innovation Greenhouse Program will sponsor a number of $500 scholarships to support students who could not otherwise afford to obtain this career building experience. Placement priority will be given to opportunities for students with businesses that exemplify principles of entrepreneurship and innovation.
