Lower Level
Auditorium
Every Kenyon art history student remembers the formative influence of foundational art history courses. These survey courses, which also enrich the experience of many non-majors, are among the College's most popular offerings. The 136-seat auditorium is fully equipped for all types of media displays, including the presentation of both digital and slide images as well as videotapes and films. A smart podium system allows instructors to be connected to their own computer drives to access presentations created especially for their classes, and it links to Kenyon's digital image holdings. The auditorium will give Kenyon another major venue for lectures by visiting scholars and artists.
Collection Storage Area
This area will not only give Kenyon a secure, temperature-controlled space to store its growing collection of artworks. It will also serve a vital educational function, providing areas where students, professors, and visiting scholars can study objects from the collection. In addition, it will be used by curators planning exhibitions in the building.
