How is Kenyon preparing for reaccreditation?

Prior to the site visit, the institution seeking reaccreditation prepares a comprehensive self-study of every aspect of the college; the self-study must show how Kenyon is meeting the HLC's five criteria. We will begin work on this self-study this fall and our work will continue until late in the spring of 2010. Over the summer the self-study coordinator, Laurie Finke, together with the reaccreditation research consultant and statistician, Sarah Murnen, Paula Turner from the Associate Provost's office , and Ron Griggs from LBIS began initial planning, including the development of a timeline and a website. We put together a self-study working group to begin the data gathering. Much of the 2008-09 academic year will be spent in research and data gathering. During 2009-10 we will write the self-study. The document should be completed by the end of the 2010 spring semester in time to prepare for the fall visit of the reaccreditation team.
