Spirituality & Religious Life

Worship services and celebrations, speakers and films, panel discussions and festive dinners, quiet meditation and exuberant praise: all play a part in spirituality and religious life at Kenyon. The vitality of the College's religious life springs from you and others in the campus community: students, faculty, administrators—your commitments, your questions, your interests. We believe in embracing religious traditions and spiritual concerns in all their diversity. Guided by the ideal of mutual respect and tolerance, we seek to create opportunities for spiritual exploration, and to support religious organizations that bring people together.

The College fosters religious activities in a number of ways. The Board of Spiritual and Religious Life is a broadly representative group that sponsors programs and encourages dialogue. A good many activities are sponsored by student organizations, ranging from Canterbury Kenyon (Episcopal), to Kenyon Hillel (Jewish), to Yoga House. In addition, many local places of worship in Gambier and Mount Vernon open their doors to Kenyon students and maintain supportive relationships with the College community.
