GLBT Community

If you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered—or if you're interested in GLBT issues—you'll discover an active, diverse, and above all welcoming GLBT community at Kenyon. It includes not only students but also professors and administrators. They support one another, forming a strong and generous family, and they also have the support of the College, which provides resources to help this community thrive. All are welcome to join in the process of exploring, celebrating, and sharing.

GLBT resources include:

Unity House. Open 24 hours a day, every day. During the academic year, Unity House provides a safe, supportive space for the GLBT community while reaching out to the campus at large. Student managers oversee Unity House, and a widely representative programming board organizes activities to build awareness, promote equality and well-being, and have fun.

Allied Sexual Orientations ( ALSO ). This student-run group sponsors events ranging from films and lectures to panel discussions and social gatherings.

Gay/Bisexual/Lesbian Support Group (GABLES). This confidential, student-run support group meets regularly to discuss issues of sexuality and student life.

Kenyon GALA. The College's Gay and Lesbian Alumni ( GALA ) group belongs to a national organization of lesbian and gay alumni groups across the country. Many GALA members take a friendly, supportive interest in GLBT issues on campus.
