General (non-digital) Phone Features

These instructions are for all student residence hall phones, faculty and administrative office non-digital phones.

6-way Conference Call
Dial first party...depress (1 second) and lift hookswitch...hear special dial tone...dial next party...announce conference...depress and lift hookswitch to connect up to 6 participants.

  • Forward Calls
    Dial (#) character + 1...hear dial tone...dial number where calls are to be forwarded...hang up. To cancel dial (#) character + 1...hang up.
  • Group Pickup (Not available to students)
    When another phone in your pickup group is ringing dial 113 and answer the call.

    Hold Call
    Depress (1 second) and lift hookswitch...hear special dial tone...dial(#) character + 4...hang up. Your call is now on hold and will ring intermittently to remind you. To return to caller: lift handset.

  • Message Center
    Message Waiting is indicated by a special "stutter" dial tone...dial Message Center number, 7000...from your phone press #(from any other phone enter your extension number + #)...enter your password + #...hear mailbox summary. (See Voice Mail Instructions for further information).
  • Park Call
    To park a call on your phone: Depress (1 second) and lift hookswitch...dial 1171...dial number where you wish to park your call...hang up. To retrieve a parked call: Lift handset...dial 1172...dial number on which call is parked.
  • Redial
    Dial 1189... (last number is automatically redialed).
  • Speed Dial
    • To store number: Dial (#) + 2...hear dial tone...dial Speed Call Code (1 or 2 digits)...dial number to be stored...hang up.
    • To change: Dial (#) + 2...dial Speed Call Code...dial new number... hang up.
    • To delete: Dial (#) + 2...dial Speed Call Code...press *...(number is automatically.
    • To use: Dial (#) + 3...hear dial tone...dial Speed Call Code...(number is automatically dialed).

      Note: Long Distance Authorization Codes cannot be stored as part of a Speed Call number.

  • Transfer Call
    Depress (1 second) and lift hookswitch...hear special dial tone...dial number...announce caller in privacy...hang up.
