Blue-light Emergency Phones
There are twenty-two blue-light emergency call boxes on campus at the following locations:
- South student parking lot, east of Hill Theater.
- Sidewalk at the intersection of Acland and Duff streets.
- Corner of Scott Lane and Chase Avenue at the north side of the College Relations buildings, near the post office.
- East end of New Apartments parking lot.
- North end of Bexley Apartments, near the gate.
- Middle Path south of Bexley Hall.
- Path west of the Crozier Center.
- College Drive on the curve leading to the science buildings.
- North of the Snowden Multicultural Center, near Kokosing Drive.
- College-Park Street south of Bushnell Hall, on the east side of the road.
- North of the Olin/Chalmers parking lot, on the north Walton House lawn.
- Taft Cottages, between C and D buildings.
- South side of the Bolton Dance Studio, along the pathway to the Kenyon Athletic Center.
- Entrance to the Farr Hall laundromat.
- Ward Street, near the bicycle shed west of Norton Hall.
- Duff Street, north of the athletic center.
- Health Services, near the front door.
- Brown Family Environmental Center.
- Near the main entrance of Higley Hall.
- At the Franklin Miller Observatory, west on State Route 229.
- At the temporary athletic facility.
- At the tennis courts near the Kokosing Gap Trail restrooms.
There are two types of emergency call boxes. The older ones are in gray enclosures with blue lights. The newer ones are eight-foot-high black enclosures with a blue strobe light on top. Both types will immediately connect you with the Office of Campus Safety. To use the older type, open the door on the gray enclosure and depress the red button. The newer models have no door to open; simply press the Call button.
There is no handset; simply talk and you will be in two-way voice communication with the Office of Campus Safety. If you are unable to speak, an officer will be dispatched to the call box location immediately. If you are unable to remain in the area, give your name and your intended direction of travel.
In addition to the blue-light emergency call boxes, there are emergency communication devices at the following locations:
