Warner Concert Series
GAMBIER, Ohio (February 14, 2007) The Warner Concert Series will present Winds of Wintergreen in concert in Brandi Recital Hall in Storer Hall on Sunday, February 25, at 2:00 p.m. Performers are hornists Wallace Easter and Abigail Pack, bassoonist Cynthia Cioffari, and oboists Robert Sorton and P. Bailey Sorton. Bailey Sorton is an adjunct instructor of music at Kenyon, teaching oboe, recorder, and bassoon and directing the woodwind ensemble. The event is free and open to the public.The Winds of Wintergreen quintet performs chamber music at the Wintergreen Music Summer Festival in Virginia annually, both as an ensemble and with the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra. Its first CD, a recording with trumpeter Paul Neebe of the concertos of J.M. Molter for trumpet and winds, will be released this year. In July and August 2006, the ensemble toured South Africa, performing at a horn symposium in Cape Town and with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra in Durban.
The Warner Concert Series of chamber music was established in 1985 in memory of Charlotte Collins Warner, the wife of H. Landon Warner, longtime Kenyon professor of history.
