Dance Extravaganza

The concert will feature the choreography and performance pieces of four dance majors, all of whom are preparing work that fulfills a partial requirement for their senior exercise. The senior exercise compels students to a new level of mastery, as they apply everything they've learned in their major to works they produce.
Katherine Capaldi, Louisa Harding, and Abigail P. Rollins are each choreographing new group works while Dana Powers is preparing a performance project. Powers will appear in a solo choreographed by Assistant Professor of Dance Julie Brodie that also features as part of the performance the live creation of art by Reed Esslinger, Class of 2005. Powers and Rollins will perform a duet choreographed by Adjunct Instructor of Dance Kora Radella involving large bouncing balls, live singing, and wine glasses.
In addition to those fulfilling requirements for the senior exercise, other Kenyon students will contribute their talents to the productions as part of the Department of Dance and Drama's rich tradition of rigor and camaraderie.
The Kenyon College Box Office is open from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 5 through Saturday, December 10, and for one hour before each performance. Tickets may be reserved by visiting the box office or by calling 740-427-5546. Admission is $1.
