Provost's Student Research Grants
The Provost's Student Research Grants help support student research experiences sponsored by Kenyon faculty. While a range of research experiences may be funded, priority will be given to funding student travel for research purposes, particularly for presenting results at conferences. The program is administered by the Associate Provosts' Office. Questions may be directed to Associate Provost Joseph Klesner.
Proposals received by the end of the first full week of classes each semester will receive full consideration. Students will be notified of the status of their requests by the end of the second week of classes. Grant funds are quite limited, so students will be well-advised to plan early, share rooms, and economize as much as possible. For example, no more than two nights' hotel accommodations will be supported, and faculty traveling with students will not be eligible for support from this fund.
To apply for a grant and/or help in securing funds for eligible research or research presentations, the student should:- Fill out the "Provost 's Student Research Grant Application form." The form will be submitted to the Associate Provosts' office.
- Have the faculty sponsor provide a letter of support for the project (which can be in the form of an email attachment to Joseph Klesner), briefly discussing the value of the proposed project and/or the context of the proposed travel.
