Family Weekend Highlights

One of the highlights is a "town meeting" with President S. Georgia Nugent and other members of the administration, to be held on Saturday, October 22, at 11:00 a.m. in the Higley Hall auditorium. Another will be a reception at which parents can meet their students' professors, scheduled for Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Gund Commons Lounge. Parents are also invited to attend classes on Friday.
Cultural activities include performances of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night by the Kenyon College Dramatic Club, a "Cole Porter Showcase" presented by the Kenyon Musical Theater/Opera Workshop, and a dramatic reading by classicist Stanley Lombardo from his new translation of Homer's Iliad. Concerts include performances by the Kenyon Symphonic Wind Ensemble and several student a cappella groups.
At a poster session on Friday, visitors can hear about the cutting-edge research that Kenyon students pursue as part of the Summer Science Scholar Program. The Brown Family Environmental Center, meanwhile, is hosting an array of events, including a fall open house on Saturday afternoon.
A number of varsity teams will be competing in home contests during the weekend. The field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's swimming teams will also see action on Saturday.
