Online Resources

The continued growth of the Web makes information much more accessible than before, but it can also make it overwhelming or challenging to find.

We've assembled links of job-posting sites by occupational groupings, and some by major city location or academic major. (However, we generally find that the foundation of a liberal arts degree becomes more important than the specific major, especially over time.) The good news is that the vast majority of these are free for job-seekers, though the sports industry tends to charge both employers and job-seekers for services.

Kenyon's CDO receives a number of postings directly from employers, whether by e-mail, fax, or the US Postal Service, and they all get entered into Symplicity. All alumni/ae can be provided with access to this system by making a phone or e-mail request to the CDO. Because our office licenses this service, a username and password is required for access.

We subscribe to several job-posting newsletters with vacancies that are particularly appropriate for liberal arts grads. There are quite a few job listings for recent grads and some for grads with several years of experience. Among the newsletters provided by through this service, the CDO subscribes to:

  • Current Jobs for Graduates in Liberal Arts
  • Current Jobs in Art
  • Current Jobs in Education
  • Current Jobs International
  • Current Jobs in Management & Business
  • Current Jobs in Performing Arts
  • Current Jobs in Writing, Editing & Communications

For access to these newsletters, please contact the CDO by e-mail or phone at (740) 427-5165 for a username and password. You'll then be able to log and view these newsletters from Current Jobs for Graduates.

We have a licensing agreement for the Vault Online Career Library. This extensive set of resources covers everything from brief overview of career fields, helpful articles, and complete books on industries or the job search process that can be downloaded and viewed in Adobe PDF files, to specific company research and industry bulletin boards. Because of data security and licensing arrangements, you will need to log on through a secured server, and alumni/ae will need fo request access through the LBIS Info Desk.
