Kenyon Career Network
The Kenyon Career Network (KCN) is designed to assist students and graduates in making contacts with Kenyon alumni/ae and parents in various career fields and geographic locations. Over 6,000 alumni and parents participate in the KCN, and members have volunteered to provide information about their careers, workplaces, geographic region, or the pursuit of advanced degrees. It is not a job or internship placement system, but rather a source of information and advice.
Networking can be a delicate process. We want you to "look good" and we want to retain our volunteers, so please be professional and courteous in your contact. Use of our Networking Tips is strongly encouraged.
Using the Kenyon Career Network
Why use the KCN? KCN volunteers can help you with the following:
- Learn more about the career fields that interest you.
- Learn the procedures for applying for a job in a particular field.
- Develop contacts to keep you informed about position openings.
- Make contact with individuals who have the responsibility or interviewing and hiring candidates (often other people within the volunteer's organization).
- Gather practical information about living and working in a particular geographic area.
- Become better informed about graduate and professional school options.
- Become more comfortable with networking and "informational interviews."
- Identify potential Extern Sponsors for 3-5 days of job shadowing.
How can I locate KCN volunteers? The KCN is available online, and access to the system is slightly different for students than alumni:
STUDENTS: As a first-time user, enter your Kenyon log-in information here and click submit. You will receive an automated e-mail authorizing your access, with a link and ID number that will enable you to use the Kenyon Career Network.
Returning users may log in via the middle button, here.
ALUMNI: If you have used the Alumni Directory Online, log in on the left as you have before, and look for the menu item on the left of the next screen for KCN Career Network. If you are new to the process, use this form to request access. If you did not receive (or don't recall seeing) an ID number in a mailing from Alumni and Parent Programs, a link is available on that page to request helping in gaining access, via providing your last name and year of graduation.
If you need further assistance in accessing or using the KCN online system, please contact our office for assistance.
