Kim Cullers MSN CNP graduated from Capital University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and later completed her Master in Nursing Science at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. She then completed requirements to become a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. A lifelong resident of Knox County, Kim has held positions both as an RN and Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department of Knox Community Hospital for 18 years before coming to Kenyon College. Prior to accepting a full-time position with the college, she worked in the health center performing female gynecological exams. Kim currently lives in Mount Vernon with her husband, but grew up in Gambier. She has one daughter attending college. Besides nursing, Kim enjoys music, movies and her Yorkshire terrier, Mick.

Dr. Amy Murnen, M.D is the collaborating physician of the Kenyon Health Center. She works in conjunction with the nurse pratitioners and athletic trainers and is avaialbe to be seen at the Health Center on Tuesdays and Fridays. Dr. Murnen graduated from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo, now the Medical University of Toledo, and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Good Samaritan Hopsital in Dayton, Ohio. She is board certified and re-certified in Family Medicine. She started her practice in Mount Vernon in 1997 and still continues her private practice there. Dr. Murnen enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time at home with her husband Chris and two dogs.

Dee Walker, Office Manager/Administrative Assistant, has worked for the Health and Counseling Center since 1994 and in the health care field since 1985. She has a small farm near Gambier and is an avid gardener and Arabian horse enthusiast.

Pam Buirley, RN-C, began working part-time at the Health and Counseling Center in 1989 and started full-time in January 1991. Pam has lived in the Gambier area since 1985 with her husband, Mike. They have three grown children.

Amy Dyer, RN, began working at the Health and Counseling Center in 1998. She previously worked at Knox Community Hospital and The Village of Westerville. Amy and her husband, Avery, have three daughters and reside in Mount Vernon.

Lori Ramsey, Receptionist began working in the Kenyon Health Center in August 2007 and has worked in the medical field in the Mount Vernon area for the past 24 years. She lives in Apple Valley with her husband, Dave, and one son currently attending college. Lori enjoys all forms of outdoor activities especially water sports.

Counseling Services

Patrick Gilligan, MSSW, LISW, Director of Counseling Services, received a BA in English (1973) from Muskingum College and a Master of Science in Social Work (1984) from the University of Louisville. Patrick has over twenty years of experience in social work and counseling, and was trained in systems and strategic therapy at the Family and Children Agency of Louisville, Kentucky. For thirteen years he was the Associate Director of Moundbuilders Guidance Center of Knox and Licking Counties. He has been independently licensed since 1987 and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Patrick is skilled at working with college-age students on a variety of issues including depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues, relationship issues, family issues, grief and loss, stress, procrastination, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder personality issues.

Nicole (Nikki) Keller, MSW, LISW, received a BA in Science and Social Welfare (1986) and Master of Social Work (1992) from The Ohio State University. She has been independently licensed in the State of Ohio since 1994 and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Sarah Gill-Williams, MA, LPCC-@, received a BA in Psychology from Vermont College (1999) and a Master in Counseling Psychology from Union University (2004). She is an independently licensed clinical counselor in the state of Ohio. She has worked with adolescents, in community mental health, in elementary schools, and in private practice. She approaches counseling from a strenght-based, wellness perspective.

Michael K. Durham, LSW, LICDC is the Substance Abuse Counselor/Educator. He received a BSSW from Bowling Green, Ohio in 1990. He has an independent license to practice in the state of Ohio. He has over 17 years in the field of substance abuse counseling, counseling youth, adults and families. He has been clinical manager of both inpatient and outpatient facilities. His theoretical approach is based on the stages of change and he believes recovery is a process, not an event.

Lindsay Miller, MS, LPC, is beginning her first year in the Kenyon College Counseling Center. She did her undergraduate work at Allegheny College (B.S. Neuroscience & Psychology) and her graduate work at Chatham College (MS Counseling Psychology) in Pittsburgh, PA. She has served in both a private practice setting and a residential facility for adolescents. She has experience with individual, group and family counseling targeted at emotional and behavioral adjustment and well-being. Her counseling philosophy is insight oriented, with a belief that healing and growth arise from within the individual in a safe, supportive setting.

Beth Hillier, Secretary, has been with Kenyon College since 1985 and began this position in March, 1997. She and her husband, Don, own a lawn care business in Mt. Vernon and have 2 daughters - one of which is a Kenyon graduate.

Counseling Service

Counseling sessions are scheduled on the hour beginning at 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The counseling secretary receives all incoming calls to the Counseling Service. All conversations with the secretary and Counseling Service staff are confidential. Information about your situation will not be released to others outside of the Health & Counseling Center without your written permission unless there is an indication that you are behaving in ways that are dangerous to yourself or others or are involved in the abuse of a child.
