Useful Staff Contacts

The dean of students should be contacted when emergencies or other situations arise that bring temporary or permanent adjustments to a student's scholastic, residential, or campus-life program. Class absence excuses, coursework extensions, and grade incompletes at the end of a current semester are required through her office. Upper class students who plan to withdraw from Kenyon should meet with the dean to discuss their plans. Applications for readmission should also be directed to the dean of students.

Dean Toutain is available to students with particular academic, social, or personal concerns. In fulfilling this responsibility, he works closely with and consults faculty members in their roles as course instructors and faculty advisors. Dean Toutain focuses his attention in this regard primarily on upperclass students, while Alicia Dugas, Assistant Dean of Students for Housing and Residential Life, works most closely with first-year students.

Students are encouraged to consult with the dean of students, either individually or in groups, concerning any matter pertaining to College and community life. In addition, students and parents with specific questions or concerns may contact the offices below.
