Dean of Students

Greetings from the Division of Student Affairs
Everyone in my office is committed to working with students to foster interpersonal growth and development through involvement in the myriad opportunities that exist outside the classroom. We highly encourage students to take advantage of new opportunities and experience available to them, especially those that are most likely to challenge their assumptions and help teach them about new cultures, perspective, lifestyles or values.
At Kenyon, student find that living in community is one of the most exciting and also one of the most challenging experiences they have. As student develop new relationships with others, they will often begin from a place of similarity and commonality and then stretch themselves to explore that which different. From a cappella singing groups and one-act plays to the Chinese New Year Celebration, from Greek life and peer education to the tutoring of elementary school students at Wiggin Street School, students will find that they learn most about themselves when they engage with people who are least like them.
College is also a time to learn about personal responsibility and accountability as well as about using resources to help solve problems. You'll find a wealth of information about the many resources available to student at Kenyon on our site. These resources provide information, advice, and problem-solving strategies, but it's up to you to use them. That said, we are here to assist in whatever way possible to help you get the most out of your Kenyon experience. Please feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail or stop by our offices.
