Stumping for Kerry
GAMBIER, Ohio (October 29, 2004) As the 2004 presidential election campaign enters its final days, the Kerry-Edwards team is sponsoring rallies on numerous campuses in swing states, including the Kenyon College campus in Gambier, Ohio.On Saturday, October 30, the Kerry-Edwards campaign will hold a rally and Halloween "pre-party" at Kenyon's Gund Commons beginning at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Among those expected to appear at the event are Chris Heinz (John Kerry's stepson) and his friend Jamie Whitehead, along with drummer and band leader Max Weinberg of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and television's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Also appearing will be actors Jake Gyllenhaal, of movies including October Sky, Donnie Darko, and The Day After Tomorrow; Scott Wolff, of movies such as Go and White Squall and television's Everwood and Party of 5; and Allison Munn, of television's What I Like About You. The band Fat Kid, led by Kenyon senior Brian Speiser of Los Angeles, California, and featuring other students at the College, will perform at the rally.
The campaign's student liaison at Kenyon is Chris Wager, a senior from Columbus, Ohio. He worked with members of the Kerry-Edwards campaign staff in Ohio, including Chris Kirchhoff and Michael Klein, a 1999 graduate of the College, to arrange the campus event.
Gund Commons is located at the corner of Gaskin Avenue and East Brooklyn Street in Gambier.
