Special Opportunities
Academically strong and motivated students should consider our honors program. The Honors Program in political science is designed to recognize and encourage exceptional scholarship in the discipline and to allow able students to do more independent work in the subject-in close collaboration with faculty members-than is otherwise permitted.
Many political science majors choose to enrich their classroom study of politics with internships. Read more about integrating internships into your political science major...
Political science majors frequently study off campus during part or all of their junior year. Kenyon students, including those studying political science, have many off-campus study options. Read more about programs especially appropriate for political science majors...
There are several summer programs especially designed for students interested in public affairs. Check out the Horwitz House bulletin board, where we will post information as it's received.
Political science faculty and students share a zest for politics and students feel comfortable advocating positions about which they feel a passion in and out of the classroom. To promote political discussion outside the classroom, we regularly schedule panel discussions (Who will win the election of 2004? How should we fight the war on terrorism?) and we hold a weekly Political Science Lunch Table to which all students and faculty are invited.
