Kenyon College Dramatic Club to present Alan Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce

GAMBIER, Ohio (October 7, 2004) The Kenyon College Dramatic Club will present Alan Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 21, 22, and 23, in the College's Bolton Theater. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for senior citizens, $2 for non-Kenyon students and children under twelve; and $2.50 for groups of ten or more. Bedroom Farce is set in the simultaneously-shown bedrooms of three very different couples. Ernest and Delia go out to dinner to celebrate their wedding anniversary. When this is a failure, they return home and prepare to celebrate with sardines on toast in bed. Malcolm and Kate are preparing a house-warming party and may eventually be ready if they manage to avoid one another's practical jokes. Nick and Jan have been invited to the party but Nick has hurt his back and prepares to rest quietly in bed. Jan is fed up with being nurse maid and is going anyway. All three preparations are doomed by the marital problems of Trevor and Susannah, who descend on each couple in turn, leaving chaos in their wake.

Alan Ayckbourn is the author of more than sixty plays and has won numerous awards. His plays have been translated into thirty-five languages and have been performed on television and recreated as films.
