Mathematics Majors: After Kenyon
Each year, our students win fellowships and assistantships to attend graduate programs in mathematics and statistics. Some go on to medical, law, and business schools, and many students go to jobs with prestigious firms, such as McKinsey and J.P. Morgan, immediately after graduation. Here is a sampling of what some of our recent math graduates are doing.
CLASS OF 2009
Stephen Badgley is a math intern teaching three courses at Maine Central Institute. In addition, Stephen is living in the dorm as a dorm parent, and assisting in coaching wrestling and track.
Vito Mantese is carrying out statistical research at Johns Hopkins University.
Kaitlin Rafferty teaches high-school math courses with Teach for America Corps in Baltimore, Maryland.
Katie Woods is a math teacher at Culver Academy in Indiana.
CLASS OF 2008
Kyle Adams will be attending law school at The College of William and Mary.
Tsvetan Asamov is attending Rutgers University where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics.
Laura Czarnecki is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematical Biology at the University of Utah.
Pushkar Dahal is a software engineer with Vecna Medical Technology.
Irina Ivan accepted a position with Lehman Brothers.
Joseph Kloc is employed by Seed Magazine as a writer in the areas of science and math.
Agnese Melbarde is now with T. Rowe Price.
Alex Rantz plans to pursue a graduate degree in engineering beginning Fall 2009.
Julia Rowny has accepted a teaching position at Hopkins School in Connecticut.
Dustin Stanley will be pursuing a Masters degree in computer programming in the Fall of 2009.
William Stanton is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Alison Tonkin is working as a financial consultant for FactSet, a company located in Chicago.
Michael Zabek is working as a research assistant for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Edward Ceaser is working as a software engineer for TiVo, Inc., in Silicon Valley, California.
Rebecca Dash will be in Samara, Russia on a Fulbright Fellowship.
Kelly Henry is pursuing a Masters in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto.
Kjersten Hild will be teaching English in Japan for the next year or two.
Lee Kennard is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jeffrey Lanz is attending graduate school at the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Queensland, Australia).
David Long is attending Caltech on NSF and DoD Research Fellowships in Chemistry.
Matthew Zaremsky is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Virginia.

Joey Neilsen, is pursuing a Ph.D. in Astronomy at Harvard University.
Robin Goodman is working as an analyst with Citigroup's corporate and investment bank in New York.
Ian Kerr-Dalton is working as a paralegal for the U.S. Department of Justice (Antitrust Division) in Washington, D.C.
James Bell is attending the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Brian Karrer is pursuing a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Michigan.

June Ma is pursuing a Ph.D. in financial engineering at Princeton University
Elliot Rushton is the Computer Systems, Technology and Building Coordinator for the Kenyon College Athletic Center.
Elaine Seaton is attending medical school at Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Catherine Woltering is attending law school at The Ohio State University.

Matthew Buckley is pursuing a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at Berkeley.
Kate Holland is participating in the Woods Hole "Sea Semester" program, sailing down the Atlantic Coast to the Caribbean. After this 12-week hiatus, Kate will prepare for her next big adventure: medical school!
Amy Wagaman is pursuing a Ph.D. in Statistics at the University of Michigan.

Marian Frasier is pursuing graduate study in Statistics at the Ohio State University.
Heather Van Ligten is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin.
Sara Vyrostek is pursuing a Ph.D. in Biostatistics at Emory University.
CLASS OF 2001
Matthew Chesnes completed a Masters degree from the London School of Economics and is now doing research at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C..
Erik Christensen spent two years in nuclear power and submarine school and is now a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.
Llewellyn Jones completed a M.S. in computational finance at Carnegie Mellon in May of 2002. Now he is working at Goldman, Sachs, and Co. as a financial engineer in the statistical arbitrage group.
Adam Knapp is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Michigan Tech.
CLASS OF 2000
Gary Mitchell completed his MBA at Northwestern University (the #1 MBA in the nation according to Business Week), traded credit derivatives for Bank One, and now works as an associate for Cambridge Place Investment Management.
Ted Rogers is pursuing a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at Penn State University.
Abby Temple is pursuing graduate study in Math Education at the Ohio State University
James Riggs is a Systems Analyst at Kenyon College.
