The minimum requirement of 2.875 units is distributed as follows:

• Theory: 1 unit (MUSC 121-122)
• History: 1 unit (MUSC 102 and one of MUSC 202-205)
• Electives: 1/2 unit (MUSC 103, 206, 221, 222, 302-331, 391-392, or additional from MUSC 202-205)
• Applied Study/Performance: 3/8 unit (3 semesters of 25-minute lessons) compiled from applied lessons at Level II or above.
