Religious and Spiritual

Through ongoing and occassional programs, Canterbury seeks to build a community of believers who support each other's growth in faith. We demonstrate the faith of our members by working for justice, both through acts of charity and advocating on behalf of those who do not share in the prosperity and comfort that we are blessed with. We partake in activities and events whose sole purpose is the expression of the deep joy that is at the root of the Christian life. We know that we are "forgiven, loved, and free," and we express the joy this gives us so that it may serve as an example to others. In all of our efforts and activities, we are sustained and strengthened by prayer. We are committed to the practice of both public and private prayer, and provide opportunities and training for both on a weekly basis.

Hillel at Kenyon College serves the Jewish students, faculty, and staff by providing religious, cultural, and social opportunities to explore, enhance and celebrate their Jewishness. Hillel also serves the Jewish residents of Knox County. Jewish students at Kenyon College have the opportunity to take an active role in determining the shape of Jewish life on the campus by serving on the Hillel student programming board. Throughout the academic year, Hillel sponsors speakers and entertainers, has community dinners and organizes parties, film nights, and trips to Columbus Jewish institutions. Hillel regularly co-sponsors events with other Kenyon departments and organizations. In short, the goal of Hillel is to maximize opportunities for the Jewish population around the campus to explore Judaism and expand their knowledge of its traditions and culture through a wide variety of programs and events.

We are a student-led and student-oriented Christian group dedicated to fellowship. Every Saturday, participants (usually about 20-35 people) meet at 6pm to enjoy a homecooked meal and simple worship. Then, we host either a speaker, a discussion, or other activities (depending on the week) that encourage us to dig deep into our faith and express God's love to others. All are welcome, no matter their religious convictions. Come for a tasty meal and good friends.
