AMIS Friends
AMIS Friends hopes to raise awareness about western Africa, particularly about the growing nation of Ghana, and to raise funds for Anani Memorial International School (AMIS). All funds raised will go towards scholarships for students who cannot pay the elementary school fees. If there is sufficient interest, AMIS Friends hopes to facilitate pen pal communication between students in Ghana and students at Kenyon or Wiggin Street School.Building Tomorrow
In order to help children in Uganda have a chance to receive an eucation in adequate facilities for learning, with grounds for play. Provide information about the state of education in Uganda to students at Kenyon. Promote a general message of the power of a good education. Raise money to build a classroom (5,000 USD) and eventually a school (45,000 USD). Improve both access to and quality of education for children in Uganda, and promote a connection between Ugandan and Kenyon students.APSO (Appalachian People's Service Organization)
Love to lend a hand? The Appalachian Service Organization travels to Appalachia (traditionally either to West Virginia or Kentucky) during October Break and for a week of Spring Break to do work in needy communities. We have built playgrounds and a skate park ramp, painted everything from fences to gymnasiums, dug ditches, participated in cleanups, and more! If you'd like more info, please email apso@kenyon.edu. The trips are little to no cost for participants, and the more the merrier!

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat affiliates work locally in communities around the world to select and support homeowners, organize volunteers, and coordinate house building. Since its founding in 1976, Habitat has built more than 300,000 homes worldwide, providing shelter for more than 1 million people in nearly 90 countries. Habitat for Humanity of Knox County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. We work in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving fund that is used to build more houses.

OhioACTION
The title of OhioACTION alludes to "Ohio Taking Action". We plan to partake in relief work in various areas of the country (specifically Midwest and Gulf Coast), building off of our extensive history in New Orleans. Although we have been mostly reactive in the past, we will include a proactive approach.
