Founded in 1852, Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon was the first fraternity on Kenyon campus. Nationally, Delta Kappa Epsilon has many distinguished alumni and has graduated more U.S. Presidents than any other fraternity, including Lambda's own Rutherford B. Hayes. Lambda Chapter's original lodge was the first fraternity lodge built in the United States and stood on the site of the Chapter's current lodge on Kokosing Drive. In 2002, Lambda Dekes representing the Class of 1937 to the present celebrated the landmark 150th Anniversary of Lambda Chapter.
