Mail service to Pueblo Nuevo is slow using the national mail system. For this reason, we have contracted with a private mail service (address to use is below). Each student and staff member will be allowed to receive a maximum of 4 lbs. of mail during the mid-January to early May season. That is, you may receive 1 lb. of mail per month while you are in Honduras. If you go over this, we will have to charge you! Please ask friends and family to follow these rules:
1. Use regular U.S. 1st class postage, not airmail.
2. Send letters only-no big cards, no inclusions.
3. Absolutely NO packages of any sort! This means no sending of yummies, treats, surprises, presents, etc. and so forth via the Miami address. Packages may be sent via USPS airmail or DHL to the Honduras address ONLY. Letters sent via Miami commonly take 1-2 weeks, partially dependent on when we get into the city to pick them up. Letters and packages sent to the Honduras address commonly take 2-4 weeks via USPS and the Honduran mail. DHL delivery usually takes less than a week.
