Telephone and Email

There were few functioning telephones in Pueblo Nuevo when we were living there in 2006. Cell phone coverage has improved considerably since then and in 2008, was quite good throughout the town. It is generally easier and cheaper to call the U.S. from Pueblo Nuevo than vice versa. The Program will have at least one cell phone for official calls and you will have the chance to buy a cheap phone and minutes from one of the several providers in the country. Internet service is now available in Pueblo Nuevo. It is slow and crashes periodically, but checking emails is possible even if sending or receiving large attachments is not.
