Student Employment

Welcome to the Student Employment Office website.
Students

The office is located in the Career Development Office (on the lower level of Gund Commons). The office is open weekdays between 8:30 and 4:30, and you can schedule appointments with us online.

Begin your job search by scrolling down this page. To view more student employment documents, visit the Information for Students page.

All students must complete an I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form for the College on or before the first day of work. Further, you must bring with you to campus (and prior to performing any duties) original documentation (photocopies and faxed copies of documents are expressly prohibited) confirming your eligibility to work in the United States. Students should review the policies section of this webpage for additional details.

How to Find a Student Job

Available student positions are posted on eRecruiting (Experience). From the homepage, please log in by entering your username (your full kenyon email address) and your password (your date of birthday MM/DD/YY, including the slashes). After you log in, please complete the following steps:

1. In the search box labeled Jobs & Internships, you will see a smaller box labeled "More Searches." Select Student Employment.

2. Select how you would like to sort the results. Default is set to "Date Posted". Click Search.

3. Click on the job titles you are interested in and follow the prompts to apply* for each position.

(*The application requirements may vary for each campus employer, but you "must submit a resume" to apply for positions through eRecruiting. It is a good idea to develop a resume and a cover letter now so that they will be available to be uploaded when you start applying for campus jobs.)

When completing job applications, please indicate whether you are a Federal Work-study or Kenyon Institutional Work-study recipient in your resume, cover letter or another document. Please check the job postings, and apply for positions frequently throughout the academic year.

If you would like to work on campus, you will need to bring appropriate identification with you to complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form, state and federal tax forms with the College. Per federal law, we must review original documents. Photocopies and faxed documents are not acceptable. Examples of the most common IDs are listed below. You must present either one item from List A or one item each from lists B and C.

One Item From List A One Item From Each Lists B and C
List A:

Current U.S. Passport
Current Foreign Passport (with a temporary I-551 stamp)
Alien Registration Card (green card for permanent residents)

List B:

Driver's License
Kenyon Student Photo ID

List C:

Social Security Card
Birth Certificate (Original or "Certified" Copy)

If you are hired for a student position, you must bring your proper IDs to the Student Employment Office, and complete the I-9 form, on or before your first day of work. You will record your hours on an online timesheet, and payment will be issued through direct deposit to your designated bank or credit union.
