Rush is an exciting time for Kenyon students. For ten days the Brothers and Sisters of Kenyon's Fraternities and Sororities will be looking to meet as many students as possible who are interested in potentially joinng a Greek organization. Since 1852, Rush Week and the recruitment of new members have had a rich tradition at Kenyon.
At Kenyon, Rush for first year students does not begin until the second semester. Formal Rush for spring 2014 will be January 20-26. Prior to the beginning of Rush, Greek organizations will distribute rush schedules detailing the times and locations of events. All students interested in participating in rush are required to attend the Rush meeting on Sunday, January 19th at 5 PM in the Great Hall, Peirce and register online.
While Rush only lasts for six days, Greek Council encourages students to try to attend a variety of events in an effort to meet the Brothers and Sisters of as many organizations as possible. When Rush Week ends, any students interested in possibly joining a Greek organization must fill out an online interest form on Monday, January 27th between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m in the Student Activities Office.
Bids to join Greek organizations will be distributed on Wednesday, January 29th between 5 PM and quiet hours. Students receiving a bid and interested in joining the respective organization, must then complete a membership acceptance form on Thursday, January 30th or Friday, January 31st in the SAO between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
