Claudio Re is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Kenyon College. He is an advocate for universal music literacy, believing that enduring relationships with music and other arts strengthens all relationships, personal as well as professional, and provides avenues for expression of the artistic self inherent in each of us. His strong beliefs about the enduring benefits of music's relationship with the community comes from his Italian heritage and long association with Italian community bands.
His research and creative interests have been recently focused on lesser known repertoire, with particular emphasis on the wind music of the Baroque and Classic periods. Current projects include study of the bands associated with the Savoyard Army during the 18th century.
