Quality of Life Survey
Each Fall semester, the Office of Housing and Residential Life at Kenyon College prepares and administers a campus-wide survey called the Quality of Life. The purpose of this survey is for our department to obtain both quantitative and qualitative feedback directly from the student-body in hopes of discovering what it is our students view as the positive and negative aspects of the Kenyon residential community. All of the resident feedback helps guide the decisions of the Office of Housing and Residential Life, as well as help evaluate how our staff is performing.
Thank you to all who completed this Fall semester's Quality of Life survey. We had a phenomenal response rate of 59 percent. Topics on the survey range from questions regarding overall living conditions, students' perception of safety on campus, maintenance and facilities in the residential buildings, students' perceptions of their Community Advisors, etc. Each year, we reevaluate the questions on the survey in order to keep it both relevant and valuable.
Each Spring semester, our office conducts two Focus Group sessions as a follow-up to the Quality of Life Survey (one for upperclass and one for first-year students). The purpose of these sessions is to receive more in-depth qualitative responses from students in regards to some of the feedback on the Quality of Life survey, in addition to some supplementary questions regarding their experience at Kenyon in terms of the residential community.
