When do classes begin?
Fall 2012 classes begin on Thursday, August 30, 2012.
What are the dimensions of my room?
Visit first-year rooms or upperclass rooms and find your residence hall to locate the approximate dimensions for your room.
How long are the beds?
The beds in all College residences are 80 inches long. Students will need twin extra-long sheets.
How much space is under the bed?
The beds are somewhat adjustable—12 to 28 inches. All beds are able to be lofted and bunked.
Can I move in before official move-in day?
If you are playing a fall sport, you may move in to your fall assignment on the day determined by your coach. If you are taking part in the pre-orientation program, you may move in on the date your sponsor has communicated to you. All requests to move in earlier should be directed to your coach or sponsor. Students who attempt to move in early without approval may incur financial and/or judicial sanctions.

How do I ship to Kenyon?
Check out information on shipping packages or mailing here.
Can I purchase or rent a mini-fridge for my room?
Yes! Kenyon College partners with Collegiate Fridge to rent micro-fridges to students. The unit has 2.9 cubic feet total storage capacity, including a freezer and a 600 watt microwave. This eco-friendly unit is a convenient alternative to bringing a refrigerator from home. Students may preorder their micro-fridge and have it delivered to their room before move-in day. Quantities are limited, so place your order today at http://www.collegiatefridge.com/.
If you would like to purchase a mini-fridge, the freezer should be around 1.4 cubic feet and the refrigerator should be around 3.5 cubic feet (not larger). If you have a roommate, it is recommended that you communicate with each other any plans to bring or rent a fridge.
Can I bring a portable air conditioning unit if I install it myself?
No. It is against College policy to have air conditioning units or other large appliances because the electrical outlets in the residences cannot support this and it would be a fire safety concern.
If I bring a television, is cable available?
No. Cable is not available in first-year residence halls. In upperclass housing areas, very few residences are able to have either cable or a satellite dish; most are unable. Large televisions can take up a lot of space, so if bringing a large TV, it is wise to discuss this with your roommate beforehand.
When I get to campus, who do I call if I have an emergency?
Call Campus Safety at 740-427-5555 for emergencies. Community Advisors are on duty at night and can respond to some emergencies in the residence halls. Visit our Emergency Contacts page for more information.
