A successful class reunion is not defined only by attendance figures or by how much money is raised. The reunion program's primary goal is to reconnect alumni with Kenyon College and with each other.
These reconnections can take place a number of ways: attending events during Reunion Weekend, contributing to the class gift, serving on their reunion committee, reconnecting with a classmate, faculty member, or former coach by phone, email, or in person. It is certainly great to achieve the fund raising goals set for each reunion class, but the connections made by classmates and the fun you have during the year of your reunion will clearly indicate the success by each committee member.
It is vital that each class take ownership of its reunion. If your classmates perceive that the reunion is being planned "by classmates, for classmates," then attendance will be high. The individuality, energy, and enthusiasm of each class will make this reunion unique and special for all involved.
