Kenyon periodically offers travel opportunities for alumni, students and parents. By partnering with faculty members and select travel companies, Kenyon is able to offer trips and experience which are uniquely Kenyon. Our goal is to provide our travelers with access to people and experiences they would not have on their own.
Recent trips have included a Greek Odyssey cruise in 2015 and trips to Cuba in 2012 and 2014. The Cuba trips were led by Professors Katherine Hedeen and Víctor Rodríguez-Núñez. Hedeen specializes in Cuban literature and culture and has researched and translated numerous contemporary Latin American authors. Rodríguez-Núñez is a native of Cuba and a contemporary of many of Cuba's best known leaders, writers and intellectuals. Kenyon travelers met Cuban artists, dancers and musicians during their journey. Each group also had the privilege of a meeting and book discussion with author Leonardo Padura.
Kenyon's Alumni and Parent Engagement office is currently planning its travel program for 2017. If you have an idea for a particular trip or topic, your suggestions are welcome! Please send your thoughts to Alex Compton, associate director of alumni and parent engagement, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
