Can't wait for orientation to begin? Want to get a jump-start on the Kenyon experience?
Kenyon offers five optional pre-orientation programs for entering students: an eleven-day scientific data program that gives you an introduction to scientific research; a seven-day program in writing and thinking to kick-start your academic journey; a seven-day backpacking and outdoors program for those seeking an adventurous beginning to college; a five-day community service program enabling you to become acquainted with greater Knox County; and a five-day leadership program for students wanting to get a jump start on campus involvement and learn essential leadership skills.
When you participate in a pre-orientation program, you'll arrive on campus early, move into your residence hall and begin meeting like-minded classmates. Applications will be available online beginning April 1, 2015, via the "Apply for Pre-Orientation Programs" link to the left.
Need-based financial aid is available for all programs.
Scientific Data participants will arrive on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Writing and Thinking, Outdoors Club Pre-Orientation, Service Pre-Orientation, and Leadership Pre-Orientation participants will arrive on Sunday, August 16, 2015. All pre-orientation participants will move into their assigned residence hall rooms.
If you participate in a pre-orientation program, your meals will be covered from the start of your program. There is no need to buy meal tickets during New Student Orientation.
